Tutorial
Setting up TradersPost
If you're automating trades through a broker with TradersPost, the alert setup is genuinely different from a plain TradingView alert: it needs a specific JSON message plus your TradersPost webhook URL, not just the App/Email/Sound toggles.
- 1
Connect a broker in TradersPost
In TradersPost, go to Brokers and connect a live or paper broker account. This is a one-time setup.
- 2
Get your TradersPost Webhook URL
Create a strategy in TradersPost and copy its Webhook URL — you'll paste this into TradingView's alert.
- 3
Create the alert on your chart
On your strategy's "⋯" menu, click "Add alert on…". Under Options, choose "Once Per Bar Close".
- 4
Paste the Webhook URL and JSON message
Paste your TradersPost Webhook URL into the alert's "Webhook URL" field, and the JSON message (below) into the "Message" field, then click Create.
The JSON message
TradersPost only requires two fields — ticker and action. For a strategy alert (any LetAlgo strategy), use this — TradingView fills in the {{...}} placeholders automatically:
{
"ticker": "{{ticker}}",
"action": "{{strategy.order.action}}",
"sentiment": "{{strategy.market_position}}",
"quantity": "{{strategy.order.contracts}}",
"price": "{{close}}"
}action can also be sent as a fixed value — buy, sell, or exit — if you're setting up a separate alert per direction instead of one alert() call.
